Taragai

Taragai may not look like much geographically, but this southwestern country is home to one of the most magically advanced civilizations that has ever lived: the Gnomes. Taragai is centered on multiple Leylines- places of power throughout the planet. It is through this boost of magical virility that the Gnomes have become so adept at tweaking with the elements of the plane, constructing feats of wonder and developing and selling magical tech to the rest of the continent.

Overview

Climate: Equatorial, hot and dry Summers.

Biome: Desert/Grasslands artifically enhanced by aquaducts. Most of the country is industralized into cities, however.

Government: Capitalism

Technology: High Tech, High Magic-powered tech, Mid magic, Low religion

Primary Culture: Gnomish, however the true dominant culture is capitalism.

Progress

Innovation and progess are ideals that have kept Taragai at the cutting edge of technology. Most of the major military advacncements have come from taragai, from automatons to firearms to airships, they hold the pattents for all.


Rather than dreaming of princes on horses to whisk them away, children in Taragai hear stories of miraculous inventions and of the world bending to the will of machinery.

Capitalism 

Dispite the high amount of military might that Taragai posesses, they are a relatively peaceful country. Or, rather, they'd just prefer to sell that might off to the highest bidder. Airships to the Lorians, Automatons to the Teressians- their "support" has changed the tides of some wars. And with that support has come new waves of prosperity to Taragai, the richest country in Gavara.

The Simple Tinkerer

The true virtue of Taragai lies beyond the products they purvey, to their quality. Deep down in the heart of every Taragain artisan, artificer, or craftsman is a deep enjoyment of the creations they make. before they rulled the economic world, they were tinkerers, and the motivation behind every creation; even now, is joy.

Gnomes

Gnomish culture is the dominant culture of taragai. They have found themselves to fit very well into the prexisting values of captialism and progress. Naturally talented in mechanics and magic, gnomes make up most of the inovators within Taragai.

Summer and spring court fey

Although the Taragaian government has not made an official statement regarding their relation to the fey, It is an open secret that they hold an alligance with Lady Farrow's encampment. By extention, the Taragaian attitude towards fey is quite amicable. Provided they are not loitering or causing undue mischief, fey are welcome incities.

Adventuring

The adventurer's guild is not welcome in Taragai, but that is not to say that adventurers are not welcome in Taragai. The wealthy elite are more than willing to contract out individual adventurers, outside of the watchfull eyes of guilds and unions.


The work here is often more perilous, Taragaian contractors are not given the same courtesy of briefing they may experience through the guild, but they will find double, even tripple the coin. They will also find an easier time speaking to the guard of Taragai, who's pockets are lined with the same gold.
